CIMB GROUP’S RAMADAN TREAT BRINGS FESTIVE JOY TO UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN

KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 (Bernama) — In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, CIMB Group treated the underprivileged children to a breaking of fast ceremony at the Ar-Rahah Mosque, Bangsar South yesterday.Some 300 children, who are orphans and physically disabled from three different homes – Pertubuhan Kanak-Kanak Insan Istimewa Cemerlang, Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih and Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih in Selangor, came to break their fast with the Group’s senior management and staff, as well as the local community nearby. Tun Dr Hajah Rahah binti Tan Sri Mohd Noah, the mother of Dato’ Sri Nazir Razak, Group Chief Executive, CIMB Group, together with Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof, Chairman, CIMB Group and Raja Noorma Raja Othman, Chief Executive Officer, CIMB Foundation were also in attendance to welcome the children.

Earlier, the children were taken for a shopping spree to buy brand new clothes and shoes for the upcoming Raya celebration. It was then presented to them at the ceremony as they arrive together with packs of traditional Malay delicacies consisting the murtabak, bubur lambuk (rice porridge) and cookies. They then adjourned to the breaking of fast and Maghrib prayers, followed later with dinner and Isya’ and Terawikh prayers.
