Children from welfare home treated to hotel spread, eco-friendly pencils and goodie bags
IMPIANA KLCC Hotel recently hosted 25 children from Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih for buka puasa.
The event was attended by representatives from KLCC Property Holdings, Impiana Hotels & Resorts Management (IHRM) and hotel associates. It was held in the Impiana Banquet Hall.
After breaking their fast, the children were ushered to the spacious prayer room (surau) at Level 1 of the hotel for Maghrib prayers, after which they and other guests were taken to the banquet hall for a buffet dinner.
The young guests were treated to dishes such as nasi briyani, beef and chicken satay with condiments, chicken tandoori with naan bread, daging kurma Johor, bayam beining with anchovy, ayam sambal petai, nasi tomato, roti john and other mouth-watering dishes.
During the dinner, the children from the home entertained guests with nasyid songs.
The event concluded with the distribution of duit raya, Impiana bags and goodies for the children.
It was a memorable event for everyone as Miss World Malaysia 2012 Yvonne Lee graced the event and personally handed over 400 units of eco-friendly pencils.
She is involved in an ongoing charity project called “Now Every Child Can Write by Lee Yvonne” to give more opportunities to poor children to read and write. The pencil is a symbol of how education can change lives.
Invited guests also received goodie bags sponsored by Bio Elements.
The hotel team was led by IHRM executive director Francis Chung, who said, “It is always a nice feeling to have these children around especially during the fasting month.
“We like to make them happy and let them know there are people who care for them,” he added.
